Throwback Thursday: Hard Ticket To Hawaii – Film

Among our favorite movies is the unsung classic Hard Ticket To Hawaii (1987).  Part of writer/director Andy Sidaris’ film trilogy the “Triple B Collection: Bullets, Bombs, and Babes,” Hard Ticket delivers all three of these aspects in spades.  A short plot description could, I think, actually dissuade you from seeing this movie.  Understand that lofty plot or thematic content is not Sidaris’ concern as a filmmaker; his art lies in keeping our undivided attention by never making the audience critically assess what is happening, nor requiring us to employ a single discernible thought while watching his films.  Hard Ticket is not so much about making sense as it is about… well, bullets, bombs, and babes.

In sum, this movie is bad, but it is hilariously bad.  It is in a class of films which sink so low as to in turn exalt themselves as cult phenomena.  If you are looking for a laugh and a chill night with some friends, try Hard Ticket to Hawaii.

Here’s a taste of what’s in store.
